| At the time of the 1841 census Thomas's age is given as 15 and his occupation as a Cotton Candle. When I first saw this I thought I was misreading, but I have seen it in several other places. What does it mean? By the time of the 1851 census he was living with his brother Richard's family at 32 St Mary's Chapel Yard, Standishgate. His age is given as 28 and his occupation as Candle, still. | ||||||||||
