| Notes for John & Ann (Family) |
At the time of the wedding, John was an Iron Turner, lived at 18 Russell Street, Wigan and his father, George, was a colliery carpenter.
Ann was a cotton rover and lived at 1 Bywater Street, Wigan.
There was no entry for her father. This may be because her mother, Alice Pyke, did not marry Thomas Sinclaire until after her birth. Her brother and sisters were all named Sinclaire. This may possibly imply that Thomas was not her father, but memories of those living before the deaths of Ann's parents would imply otherwise.
The witnesses were James Hodson and Elizabeth Pyke. Elizabeth may have been a sister of Ann or of her mother Alice about whom we know nothing.
The priest performing the ceremony was Patrick Francis Keating and the registrar was Robert Halliwell. |
