On the night of the 1861 census Edward and family lived at 15 Down Green. Edward gives his occupation as Collier and Ann as a Throstle Spinner. Edward gives his age as 20 and Ann as 18. Elizabeth is 1.
By 1871 the family lived at 29 Nook, Lamberhead Green, Pemberton. Edward, 31 and a Coal Miner, now says he was born in Billinge. Ann says she is only 26, which is only 8 years older than the previous census and would have made her just 15 when Elizabeth was born. I think maybe someone's maths left a little to be desired! Anyway, also now present were Elizabeth, 11, William, 9, Thomas, 7, Richard, 5 and Ann, 2.
I haven't been able to find Edward or Ann on the 1881 census anywhere in the country, nor could I find them on the 1891 census. |
